During writing sessions this week our class will complete our innovation of the story "The Enormous Turnip." Students will continue to participate in guided reading sessions and handwriting lessons.

Numeracy: This week students are learning to identify fact families using addition and subtraction. During math lessons students will revise telling the time and writing numbers over 100. They will also practice matching numbers to written words.

Science: During science this week we will be talking about seasons in collaborative small groups. Each group will create a poster that describes the features of each season. We will create a class flow chart of the seasons in order and compare similarities and differences between seasons.

Geography: Students will be discussing why maps use symbols instead of realistic depictions of places and objects. As a class we will view a range of maps and discuss the symbols that are present. Students will create symbols for pictures and create their own island.
