Homework

Reading homework will be sent home today (Monday 29th February). Please send your child to school with their yellow folder on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week. On Mondays and Wednesdays books will be swapped and on Fridays yellow folders will be collected in order to prepare for the following week. Students will have their reading journals in their yellow folders to complete and also a book mark to assist all parents with reading homework. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see me.

Pupil Free Day

Don't forget Friday 4th March is a pupil free day as YBPS staff are attending school development. 

Recess & Lunch Play Time

This week on Friday (26th February) all Year One students will be taken to the oval to discuss the rules and boundaries before they are given permission to play there at recess and lunch time. After this session Year One students will be given permission to play on the oval as of Monday 29th February. 

Talk For Writing

Yanchep Beach Primary School uses the Talk For Writing program to develop students writing skills. Each term all Year One classes will learn a fictional narrative, as this is part of the writing program. This term we are learning the story "Cat, Prickle and Pelican." Thank you to all parents and guardians who were able to attend the parent information session on Monday afternoon. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please be aware that I have sent home a copy of the presentation with all students if you were unable to attend.

Parent Information Session

On Monday 15th February at 3:15pm I will be hosting a parent information session in Room 6. This session will include important information regarding your child's learning in Year One.

Year One Introductory Letter & News Roster

This week all Year One students received an Introductory Letter and News Roster to take home. These notes include important information that will assist your child to transition into their new classroom. Please come and see me if you did not receive these notes.

Sport & Library

Our class goes to....

Library on Tuesdays- students need their blue library bag

Sport on Thursdays- students need their hat, drink bottle, running shoes and can wear their faction shirt if preferred 

Donations Needed

Our class is looking for any kind donations of new navy blue children's socks. We are going to use them as whiteboard erasers in the classroom. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
